It's the 'Lympics!

Welcome to August everyone!! Yes I know it is a little late...but use your imagination :D

So some stuff has been going on in London for a week now...you might have heard a little about it, because it's only small...

IT'S THE OLYMPICS!!!

Woo!
Now, I am not a very sporty person myself, but I have been getting into the Olympics much more than I actually thought I would!! Especially the Equestrian and the Gymnastics....the Equestrian is obviously because I love horses, and it is amazing to watch it all done professionally.. but I am not entirely sure why I find the Gymnastics so great to watch...it might be through pure jealousy with how bendy and talented they all are, or it might just be that I generally enjoy watching that sport!!
I know that we are never going to win the whole thing overall, because that is all in the hands of China and the USA at the moment, but it is still enjoyable to root for your own country, and to watch them achieve their dreams on home turf :)

The fact that the Olympics are held in Great Britain this year, means that countries like America and Australia don't find out results until the day after they have happened because of the time differences. In a way, I find it quite satisfying as I often find that many TV programs and films that I want to see come out in America first, so they are already talking about it before it has even been released. Therefore, it is nice to know that we (the British) are the first to know about everything to do with the Olympics. I also find it entertaining to see people in America tweeting what they think is going to happen in the "upcoming event" when it has already happened.....it is almost like being able to see into the future!! :D

As well as the Olympics, there are a few other things that I want to mention in today's blog....

When I last talked about the costume that I am going to wear for my own party, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do, or who I was going to go as...well I have made a decision....
I, Emily Forbes, am going as.....

THE GOLDEN SNITCH

So to make this costume, I bought some bright yellow trousers off the Internet, and I already own a bright yellow top...I will then put on some fairy wings and BOOM! I will have myself a Golden Snitch costume which will be quite easy to change out of if I get uncomfortable :)

And finally...
I posted a while back, talking about plans to re-decorate my bedroom....well yesterday I finished!!

....clearing out.....

So there is a lot more rubbish in there than I thought there would be, but I have managed to fit the entire contents of my room that I want to keep, into 4 medium sized crates, which can be easily moved around and unpacked...
So I believe that painting is going to be started tonight, or tomorrow (it's my dad doing it) and then I am going to get a new bed, then move back in, so that should all take a week maximum. I am having entirely new furniture and stuff as well, but as we are quite pushed for time, with guests coming, and the Olympics to see, it is probably going to be another few weeks until I get all of the new stuff, but that is fine.
Now, just so you are aware, I am not getting new furniture that is replacing other new furniture...the furniture in my room has been in my room for about 10 years, and previous to that has been in other rooms for another 10 years, so it is not like I am just getting a constant flow of new things :P
So I am currently living in our family guest room, which is much bigger than my room...it also has an en suite bathroom with it, so I am not pushed to leave at any time :) in fact, it is 11.20 now, and I haven't even left my bed yet :D
So that is it for now, sorry for such a long blog, but I hope it makes up for another long gap that I left :D

Hugs and fishes,

E x

SpongeBob Goes To Hogwarts

As I have mentioned, my birthday is coming up, and that can mean only one thing.......

PARTY TIME!!

So in previous years I have done many different things with my parties, and one thing that I realized that I haven't done before is a fancy dress/themed party!
So after a lot of thought I decided that I would choose a Harry Potter theme, as me and most of my friend love Harry Potter quite a lot :P
But the only problem with this would be that not all of the people that I wanted to invite to the party would be that big a fan of Harry Potter, at which point I decided that there could be two themes. :D So as you have probably already guessed by the title of this post, I chose SpongeBob SquarePants as my second theme, as it is so far off Harry Potter, but is also fun and meant that everyone could find a character overall which they liked.
This was important, as I informed them on the invitations that everyone has to come dressed up as a character from either one of the themes...but I also told them that they were only allowed to come as an obvious character (e.g. Harry Potter (glasses and a scar) or Ron (ginger hair) ) if they had an AMAZING costume to go with it :D
So the party is going to be held at my house on the 24th August (the day after the results) and some people are going to be sleeping over onto the 25th. The fact that it is the day after the GCSE results could be a good or a bad thing really....if everyone has got the results that they wanted then everyone is going to be in really good spirits and wanting to party...but if some people are disappointed with their results then it is going to be a bit of a bummer for them as they will feel forced to cheer themselves up for my party... :S
I am currently still planning things that we can do at the party though, as its quite difficult to think up Harry Potter games that can be done in reality, or SpongeBob games that aren't too childish :P so that is something that I am trying to work on :D
I also don't know which character I myself am going as yet so that is something I need to decide on pretty quickly, as I have to make myself a costume as well as the rest of the party planning...wish me luck!!

So that's it for the party updates for now :) I am glad that I managed to get in a post today...and a long one too :D

Laters, potaters :D

New Countdown!

Wooooo! :D
I know it is a little self-centered of me to put it up there...but then it is my blog ;)
So I have put up a countdown ticker for my birthday!! Which also marks almost the end of the summer holidays as well, so you can use that if you want to :)
Just if you couldn't be bothered to work it out, my birthday is on the 30th August and the Summer Holidays finish from between 28th August to 6th September :D

Speak soon!

E x

Wow....i need to get posting again....

So.....quite a bit has happened since I last posted :P
I have finished my GCSE's and they went ok-ish....i am getting the results on August 23rd so I have a bit to wait until then :S

I have finished school now so I am off to college in September and I have decided not to do A Levels like most people do, but I am doing something called a BTEC (pronounced: bee-teck) in Animal Management because I want to become a Vet Nurse when I finish University :)

Last thing I can think of to write about is the fact that I have literally just got back from a week long holiday in Mallorca which was really awesome :D me and my parents went together to the East coast to a place called Sa Coma which is only 5 minutes walking distance from the beach so that was helpful :) the only disappointing thing about the whole trip was that the other places that we have previously been on holiday have all had nice big pools and a great atmosphere around them, but this hotels pool was relatively small and there wasn't much of an atmosphere so that was a shame : /  but overall it was a really good holiday, if a little too short :D

So this is a picture that I took on my phone of the view from our balcony towards the pool at sunset...it is one of my favourite pictures and is worthy of becoming a computer wallpaper :P

And this is the view from the balcony also, but pointing in another direction. As you can see we had a nice view of the sea, but there were other people's apartments in the way...however it was nice and sunny :)

So that's it for now, I hope to be back as soon as possible!!
Lots of love,

E x

Long time, No blog :P

Wow okay....so lots of time has passed since I wrote here... :S sorry about that :D

I keep meaning to write something but I could never be bothered before, so I am taking a break in my revision and writing something...anything that could be of interest to anyone...

So I will do a quick review of my life over the last month....
I had an Easter holiday which was awesome and filled with horsey things :)

I then had 3 weeks of school which was fun and sad in the 3rd week because everyone was saying goodbye :( for most of us that was the last time we would ever see each other and I am fine to admit that I cried like a baby :') but I am glad I did because otherwise it would all build up into anger so that was great :)

On the 2nd May, me and a friend went to go and see Derren Brown on his Svengali tour :D and he was AMAZING. I would go again if I could but it is all sold out! But I would seriously recommend it as it was brilliant and mystifying and completely inexplainable!... I don't think that is a word though... If you don't know who Derren Brown is, then I would say that he was sort of a magician, but on a bigger scale, as in he uses 'mind-control' and huge tricks and stuff so it is startlingly good! Also, he is really funny so it is entertaining for everyone!!

This weekend just gone (12/05/12-13/05/12) was the wedding of my cousin :) that was really beautiful and I had a really great dress to wear ;) the only downside to it was that I missed my prom at school which was on the 12th... so that was upsetting, especially when I get home and see all of the beautiful pictures of people on Facebook :/ but I am still glad that I went to the wedding :D

Now all I have left to do is my GCSE'S :D no pressure there then ;)
I have been busy revising after school and at weekends pretty much constantly since the Easter holidays, and my first exam was yesterday afternoon (Religious Studies: Christianity) and that went really quite well so I am in a good mood at the moment... :)
My next exam is on Friday 18th and that is Drama: Theory so that should be fun :D (sarcasm)

Right then...I think we are up to speed now :P

Oh and by the way, if you want to be my friend on FaceBook then please tell me that you are going to send me a friend request :D it is just that I have had some already but if I don't know what you want then I'm not going to accept...so just warning you :D

Alright then, see ya

New Gadgets on the block!

Ok so you may have noticed that I have put some new bits and pieces on the blog :)
We will start from the top and work down......
I have put a 'Days until Summer Holidays' banner up, so that we can start to count down to that :D now this may not be the date of the beginning of your summer, but it is the day that I finish my work experience so it is all a little bit personal to me :)
Underneath the Summer banner, I have put a banner that is only relevant to me really...but hey it's my blog :P so yeah it's just counting down the days until I get my braces off...because that is something that I am truly looking forward to :D
Also, I have put something Easter-related on the right hand side...it's an Easter chocolate poll...just to fond out what chocolate you like best at Easter :) but hurry with your vote because it all closes next Saturday (21st) at midnight :D
Finally, I just want to point out that it is Friday 13th today, so everyone be careful!! My dad is flying to Bucharest today...so let's hope that his flight will be ok!!
Anyways, see you soon!!
Love

Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone!!
I know it's only Saturday today and Easter is on Sunday but something tells me that I am going to be a bit busy tomorrow doing childish things like eating chocolate and going on Easter egg hunts :D
So a bit of an update on my life as it is right now..... I have just spent the last four days at my riding school, helping and riding horses, so this is my first day off :D
however I have GCSE's after the Easter holidays finish so lots of revising has to happen instead :(
As well as revision today, we (my family) are also getting a new car :D and it's a Mini!! I am incredibly excited and as I write this my parents are out signing a bunch of papers to buy it!! It's dark green with white racing stripes on it, which will either look really silly or really awesome :D I am hoping the latter ;)
and finally, this afternoon I am going to the cinema with friends to go and see Titanic :D and yes it is the classic one with Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio (and I know that you are probably singing My Heart Will Go On in your head now) ;) so I am really excited about that, even though it means sitting for 3 hours and 10 minutes in the dark :)
So that is it for know :) if you like you can comment and tell me what is going on with you this Easter!!
And if you don't want to, then don't! ;)
See ya

April fools!! (sort of)

So a couple of days ago it was April Fools day.... and I missed it!!
It was a sad time :( but I am over it now :P
but every year I usually celebrate it somehow, even if it isn't actually fooling someone!! I am just annoyed because I didn't do anything this year....
The problem is that I simply forgot!! and I am sorry to say that I was revising instead of having fun :( and that makes me sad
so that is all I have to say :) it's quite a short one today but I thought it was time for an update...regardless of length :D
see ya later alligator XP

Careful with that fuel Madam!

ok so if you are in the UK then you will know about the whole 'fuel crisis' going on at the moment, and that everyone is hurrying to get as much petrol/diesel on the tanks as possible before it all kicks off :)
so I will admit that I am not entirely sire what is going on but I am sure that I'm not the only one ;)
so what I understand is that the people who deliver the fuel might be going on strike so we won't have any fuel left over...therefore the government sent out a message saying that everyone should fill up their tanks and jerry cans to make sure that they aren't left stranded :P
HOWEVER, before any unions can go on strike, they have to give a weeks notice...but they have already agreed that they aren't going to because it is the Easter holidays and that is when people need fuel :)
one mildly entertaining sorry that has come out of this, is that a woman decided to keep her jerry cans in her kitchen, then proceeded to cook a meal...with FIRE. now if you know anything about petrol, you will know that it is EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE and that having fire around it is very very very very very very dangerous. So as expected, her kitchen caught on fire, and the story went on the news for the nation to see... and we all simultaneously sighed and asked our friends who would be so very stupid..... :D funny stuff
so that is about it really...I am doing quite well on the constant blogging front so I hope to keep that up over the holidays....maybe turning into more of a diary for me with entertaining quotes and stiff like that :D
so see you then....

Patrick wins everything

Just a picture of Patrick Star from SpongBob SquarePants :P

appy times!

hello to you all :)
fun and bloggy times ahead as I have found the Blogger app for my iPod touch and therefore hope to be using it a lot :) the convenience is almost overwhelming and I can type quite a lot fast on a touch screen than actual keys :P
as always I am going to say that I can hopefully be posting more frequently...do it for a few hours...then give up... :S and I am going to promise it again :P
but this time is is likely to be easier as I go on my iPod A LOT more than I go on my computer (i.e. every night!)
so basically whenever I become bored enough I shall be posting :D (and that is a lot XD )
plus, it will be easier to put photos and pictures on like this, because I don't store a lot on my computer, and they are mostly on my iPod.... therefore I will mostly post pictures that may make you smile and potentially laugh....we'll see...
I may also not even mention that I am putting a picture with the post so that should be fun times (not really!)
anyways I shall be off for now :)
ciao for now

Feeling Sporty? :D

So this weekend is Sport Relief weekend and I hope that you are doing something to raise money ;)

I'm running a mile this Wednesday, and although it doesn't seem like much, I have raised over £20 just for that...and with all of the other people doing it as well, that makes a healthy profit!!
And although most people might go on about how it is all for a good cause and stuff like that...although I agree, I am not going to talk about that!!
I am going to tell you about how celebrities are doing their bit for charity this year, mostly John Bishop and David Walliams :)
John Bishop did a week-long journey from Paris to London, and he called it "Bishop's Week of Hell" which, after seeing it, pretty much sums it up! Basically, he cycled from Paris to Calais in 1 day, then rowed across the English Channel with Davina McCall, Denise Lewis, and Freddie Flintoff in 1 day, then spent 3 days running from Dover to London!! This was all non-stop, with only a few hours of sleep between each day! This was really inspiring, because he is only a comedian, and not an athlete at all, so to do something as strenuous as that is really amazing in my eyes.
Also, David Walliams did his bit as well, swimming the Thames (in London) spending over a week swimming every day :O now the Thames is 346 kilometers....which is a
l o n g way! Now you may remember a few years ago when he swam the Channel, which is only 240km across, which is also amazing, but the fact that he has managed to top that is incredible!
So they are both really inspiring people, and they are doing it all for charity which is even better!!
So now you know, and now I shall finish :)
Thanks for reading

It's Mother's Day!

Now I will admit that I don't really know what to say about Mother's Day...

But I do love my Mum with all my heart and I want everyone to know that :)
This year I got her a balloon, truffles, flowers and a card....which is more than I've ever got her before...maybe because I have never been old enough to arrange that sort of thing before!!
I also cooked a meal for her last night as a special Mother's Day treat...because I don't cook meals a lot :P
and I know that it sounds odd how I cooked it last night (Saturday) rather than tonight...but my mum is a midwife, so she has late shifts (2pm-10pm) and night shifts (9pm-7am) and she is on a late shift tonight so she would miss all the time that I would be cooking, and we would be eating...so as she was on an early shift (7am-2pm) yesterday, that seemed to be the best time to cook!
So that is basically all I have to say on the matter...so yeah...

By the way, I have decided to post every weekend now... because as I am in my GCSE year, and they are only in 2 months, I need to focus on my studying during the week and the majority of the weekend so the blog has to be pushed further back in my list of priorities!!

So until next time :D

Disney......... Channel

I LOVE DISNEY.
I am not afraid to admit that to anyone...
Whether it's the original movies or the channel... I like most things about Disney...no matter how cheesy!! However when other people say that they like Disney they are almost always talking about the movies that were shown in the cinema...but when I talk about Disney, I am almost always talking about the New Generation of shows and characters on Disney Channel
You see, there are movies like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and The Jungle Book...absolute classics, no doubt about that! The movies are the side that most people agree that they like, because they have grown up surrounded by them, therefore they have known the characters, plots and songs for their entire lives!
But there are also newer movies like the High School Musical trilogy and Camp Rock, which many people don't have as much of a fancy to....it's a shame really :/ basically these movies aren't quite the animated classics that we know and love, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't give them a chance! Yes they may be EXTREMELY cheesy but they have great songs, fun plots, and good acting...which many movies don't deliver nowadays.
Finally, I want to talk about Disney Channel itself... now in the last year some of the newer programmes haven't really made me want to watch them...but there are some that are entertaining, and that I would happily sit down and watch... these are programmes like Hannah Montana Forever, Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb. I will now explain why I like them so much... the original series of Hannah Montana was alright, although the acting could have been improved... but then they created the series finale and called it Hannah Montana Forever, so that the people watching new that it was one of the more special episodes. These episodes were more significant and necessary to the story, and they had more of a direction to them, as they were tying up loose ends, and generally bringing everything to a close. Now, I will be the first to admit that I actually cried the first and second times of seeing the final episode...NOT because it was the final episode, but because it was so sad!! But I will leave you to go and watch it and find out why... :P
Wizards of Waverly Place has always been good for me... and is made even better by it's longevity :D it's got comedy, tension, sadness, happiness, everything that you need to keep a show going... and after 5 years they are only just beginning to build up a little bit of tension towards the final episodes... but it's not happening just yet!!
Finally, Phineas and Ferb make my life complete :D it is a cartoon about two stepbrothers who make wacky inventions and have a pet platypus called Perry who is a secret agent... it is difficult to describe exactly how good it is, without you seeing it...because already by my description it sounds boring!! But out of the three that I have listed, I would most strongly recommend this one....because although it is a cartoon, it is still hilariously funny, and witty and just generally AWESOME!!
So that is it, I rest my case.... not that I had a case in the first place...but you get what I mean!!
Alright then... good bye

YouTuber's :)

YouTuber's: a person or persons who creates video's and upload them onto YouTube

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, OK? I said I was sorry...
Ok, so I will start by saying that I LOVE YouTube. That is final.
Many people don't see the appeal of YouTube, because they are just random videos of occasionally entertaining things that get boring after 5 minutes of browsing...
These people need to venture deeper...
You see, there are certain people out there that make vlogs, (video blogs) or just upload funny videos every week, that are worth the trip onto the Internet for...
I am going to list some of MY favourite YouTuber's, and I recommend every single one to you....

So we will start with the first person I found on YouTube, after they were recommended to me by one of my friends:
charlieissocoollike, otherwise known as Charlie McDonnell...21 years old, British male. He is funny, and clever and interested in everything... he is also up for many challenges which are always entertaining to watch :P Admittedly, his older, less scripted videos are funnier to watch, but he is still just as funny now, only he is older, with more things to do than upload a video onto YouTube every day :)
Next, one of Charlie McDonnell's very good friends:
Alex Day a.k.a nerimon ....also a British male who is funny and clever. However he has a different approach to his YouTube channel than Charlie, as he is not afraid to say what he thinks and criticize things that other people might be afraid to say. You may recognize his name from the Christmas 2011 Music Charts, as he made it to Number 4 on Christmas Day with his single 'Forever Yours' which is amazing because he is an unsigned artist! Many versions were made of the single, and each sale of any of the versions went towards the final sales of the single so the calculations add up :)
Next, we go across the pond to some American YouTuber's that I like, starting with:
JennaMarbles , real name 'Jenna Mourey' with two dogs, named Kermit and Marbles, who feature heavily in her videos :) Jenna creates hilarious videos, doing impressions of celebrities, and also explaining to us what is wrong with the world :) it is difficult to describe the brilliance and genius of these videos, so I would heavily suggest that you check them out...
Now onwards, to a pair of American men who go by the names of
Rhett and Link, on their channel which is cleverly named RhettandLink, they create videos which have everyday funniness in them, which is once again difficult to describe, but a lot of the time they are just wanting to make people laugh, and make themselves laugh! So not much to say on them, but I still invite you to take a look :D
Now, if you have been on YouTube a lot, you may have heard the name Ray William Johnson thrown in here and there, now some people don't like him, but I am not sure if they have ever actually watched his videos.
So RayWilliamJohnson is yet another comedian who seems to pride himself on making crude jokes, but this is why he has over 1.5 BILLION views, and over 5 MILLION subscribers... and that is a lot... :D so basically what he and his team do, is they find funny videos on YouTube, and he will talk about them, and make jokes about them, which you will either love, or hate....probably love :D
Sticking with the American theme, I now move on to a YouTuber called Michael Aranda.
michaelaranda makes videos about his life and the people around him, that genuinely just make you laugh :) they are brilliant for cheering you up on a bad day, and keeping you on a high on a good day, plus his comic timing is impeccable and I urge you to take a peek :)
So I will move onto my final YouTuber...well I wouldn't exactly call them an individual YouTuber, more of a show of people, who aren't exactly people... well you'll see...
these 'people' are called the potterpuppetpals, and they are perfect for any Harry Potter fans, even people that have only heard about Harry Potter will enjoy it :) so I will explain.... they were brought to their current popularity by a particular video called 'The Mysterious Ticking Noise' which is, in fact, on another channel, but typing into the search bar isn't beyond you, I hope... :) so to continue, they have made puppets of some of the characters from Harry Potter, and make stories of their life outside Hogwarts :) they are all so good that I don't know which is my personal favourite, so I will let you decide :D

Right, that is it for now :) I apologize again for not posting yesterday... I tried but my computer went mental :P
I hope that this extra-long post makes up for it...
Adios mis amigos ;)

Modern 'Art'

So today's post is just going to be short because I am in a bit of a hurry...
I just wanted to let off some steam about how much I dislike this new style of art where an artist with some time on there hands has painted a couple of strokes onto a canvas and thought "ooh...that looks less white now...I think I will try and sell it for a few thousand..."
No.
I am in my second year of an Art GCSE, and the beginning of my terms have almost always started off with an inspirational trip... for example, this January I went to Oxford to the Ashmolean and that was amazing pieces of artwork that someone had clearly worked for days and days on...
However, last year I went on a trip to the Liverpool Tate, and some of it was genuinely amazing and inspiring, but on a canvas in the middle of a blank room was a blue square. Just a blue square...and I thought to myself... oh dear... I have walked into the Dulux paint tester factory...
I hadn't.
So to quickly round this off...modern 'art' makes me angry and annoyed that the artists who put so much effort into their work are downgraded because of random artists that splatter a bit of paint onto a blank canvas.....
*sigh* well until next time....

Blue is Blue...right?

Ok so I am planning on completely re-doing my room- repainting it, getting a new bed, getting new curtains, getting new furniture....etc.

Now, I am in the early stages of planning at the moment, and I have decided I want blue as the wall colour... so I am on the Dulux site and I am looking for the blue that I have in mind....

I haven't found it, but what I have found is a load of blue's of all different shades and arguably colours... there is Blue River, Aqua Blue, Blue Babe, Atlantic Blue, Egyptian Blue, etc...
Basically there are too many to choose from just by looking at the computer screen with all of them lined up...
I will post again about this when I have hopefully come to a decision... it might not even end up being blue, maybe yellow or something more random like maroon.... we shall see :)

Until then :D

Child Marriages?!

Ok so the next news story that found shocking/entertaining was that the CBBC channel are making a new series where children as young as 7 are planning their parents' weddings...from the theme to the dress.... :O
If I had a child and a fiance then I would NEVER let my child organize one of the biggest days of my life!!
These parents are insane :O
They say it is going to be similar to the BBC Three series of Don't Tell The Bride but in that series it is the groom that organizes it and not someone who isn't even going to be getting married!!
Now I'm not the only one that disagrees with this series... the story that I found on it says that Reverend Rod Thomas doesn't think it's acceptable to be doing that sort of thing because it goes against the traditions of a wedding, and traditional family values, and I agree with that...

If you want to have a look for yourself then click here for the link...

Think what you want but I completely disagree...
Enjoy!

Auto-tuners... :/

I hate music artists that use auto-tune to lie to the world....

Wikipedia says this :
Auto-Tune is an audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies, which uses proprietary software[2] to alter pitch in vocal and instrumental performances. It was originally intended to disguise off-key inaccuracies, allowing vocal tracks to be perfectly tuned despite originally being slightly off-key.

The key word in the definition is 'disguise'. These people who can't sing, but want to look like they have some sort of talent *cough cough* KATIE PRICE *cough cough* use this technology as their claim to fame, and it makes me angry. Often, they are only attempting to sing because they or their parents have enough money to buy them a record deal *cough* REBECCA BLACK *cough*
This annoys me because a) they really can't sing and b) millions of people in the world work their whole life trying to get a record contract by using their pure talents, and only a handful of people get that break :/

The fact that I hate auto-tune probably enhances The X Factor more to suit what I like, because on The X Factor there is nowhere to hide, and therefore only the people that actually have talent go on to win and be a successful recording artist... most of the time... ;)

When auto-tune is used for the more 'electronic' sound on purpose, I think it sounds great! For example Cher's "Believe" sounds brilliant with the auto-tune because she can sing anyway and the auto-tune is just emphasizing the accuracy of her notes...
But when artists are so off with their pitching that the entire original, un-auto-tuned song could have sounded better if a fat lady trod on a bag of cats, that makes me angry :@

Now I am not going to pretend that I can sing... I know that I can't...
But I am not going to spend days on a computer trying to correct a song that is never going to sound great... I gave up with that years ago :)
So those are my thoughts...

Happy auto-tuning :D

Mobility Scooters....

Have you ever wondered why you don't see many elderly people/overweight people racing in their mobility scooters?

I mean, when I am old and grey, that is all I will do!

I will organise rallies where all of the mobility scooter-ers will join together in a race on a racing circuit.

I can picture it being incredibly exciting.... which is a reason why I can't see how it hasn't been done already... maybe it has.. I feel that more research should be done on this....

I will look it up then update :)

Should I Believe It or Not?

So there is a story here that I have found which has been released by the BBC about a man in Sweden who has apparently survived for two months without any food after being trapped in his car by the snow...

Now I don't know whether to believe this story or not, I mean, my first thought is that he is lying just to get attention from the news and everything, but then the news story says that he could hardly speak, he probably survived by drinking snow, and that he did have a sleeping bag with him...

So I then begin to wonder whether it is even possible to survive 2 months without food.... then the news story talks about this too...

They say that the police do not doubt his story at all, but scientists at the Umea University Hospital say that people shoudn't be able to survive much more than 4 weeks without food... so should I believe a bunch of random police officers....or scientists?

The proof is in the pudding.... and the snow....

So once again here is the link for the story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17088173

Think what you want to think... maybe leave a comment on your thoughts....

Until next time,

Muchos Programmes (en el Tele)

Translation: Many Programs (on the telly)

That was Spanish...I do speak a little bit of Spanish... but I still don't know if that is right!!

So there are many different TV programmes on nowadays, and I just wanted to let you know my opinion on some of them... yes some of the stuff I like and that isn't listed is arguably for the male and child population, but I am sure it is the same for most people...having individual tv choices and all that... SO HERE WE GO....

We'll start with- The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE): I honestly think it is a load of rubbish. They are all a bunch of talentless people who seemingly have less brain cells than a fly. Now, many people say it is rubbish without even watching it and/or giving it a chance... I had a go at this and I have seen a few episodes. However I couldn't carry on because I had to go and watch some paint dry.....

Next- The X Factor: LOVE IT!!! I admit that the live shows can get a little repetitive, but the auditions are extremely entertaining! I have the same opinion with Britain's Got Talent.

One of my personal favourites- Waterloo Road: I have watched it for as long as I can remember and love every minute of it!! There is always a new and original plot that is occasionally predictable but as a teenager, it is also a brilliant thing to discuss with your friends and try and guess what might happen...

Now the soaps- Coronation Street/Eastenders/Hollyoaks/Emmerdale: Don't watch any of them. I have a feeling that I have missed a classic one out but I don't care enough to Google it... I have tried to watch Eastenders and Corrie before but having to watch them everyday is just too much commitment for me...

Some chat shows- Graham Norton Show/Jonathan Ross Show: Both pretty hilarious every week! Fun for some LNL's (late night laughs). Not a lot to say about them... they are both just constantly delivering really :)

Take Me Out: Lots of people are against TMO, but I find it really entertaining!! Yes almost all of the girls are there because they are too dumb for any man to live with or around them, but that makes it so much funnier. The people who don't like it either haven't seen it, or haven't watched it long enough to see the point of it all :P but to those people, I would strongly recommend it!!

Finally- Downton Abbey: There are so many good things I could say about this program....and at first I thought it was just that I had a thing for period dramas or something, but then a buzz was made about it and pretty much everyone was watching it. It has excitement, drama, shock and humour. The only bad thing I can say about it is that you have to have watched the series before that to understand what is going on...which is a shame because it is a brilliant program... :D

So that is it... no they aren't the TV programs that I know of and watch, but they seem to be the popular choices right now :)

See you later

Le Dictionaire de Urbane

Translation: The Urban Dictionary

Side note- I don't speak French....I made it up....

So I didn't think I had this much to talk about but in the last hour or so I have now made 4 blog posts....

CRAZY.

I have blobbed around the internet in the past, and one of the things on one's bucket list should always be to search your first or last name in the Urban Dictionary and see what comes up, look at the first definition then post it as your FaceBook status, or tweet it or whatever...

I have seen that it can either be flattering, insulting, or downright deceiving....

So as an example, I typed in 'Emily' (because that's my name...) into the Search bit.. and I got something which is both flattering...and deceiving...

So here it is:

Emily

slang term for a highly attractive and sexually intriguing individual.

she drives me crazy, shes such an Emily

That last bit in Italics is an example of how you might use it in a conversation (always a good laugh for funnier words).

I encourage you to go to the Urban Dictionary- here is the link:http://www.urbandictionary.com/

By the way, I put the links there for convenience... not because I think that you are stupid enough not to be able to use the Internet... :D

See you later, Alligator (In a while, Crocodile)

A Story that made me smile :)

So something else that you should know about me is that I like the more peculiar news...so not really the politics and war news, but the happy stuff that brightens up your day :)
For example, just after a whole 2 minutes of searching, I found this adorable story of a ram and a deer who are going to be married (if you don't know what a ram is then it is a furry four-legged creature with horns...if you don't know what a deer is then it is a furry four-legged creature with horns)
So the short version of the story is that a zoo in China had separated the two after they fell in love, then the deer went through a fence to be reunited with the ram and now they are getting married :)
But the bit that shocked me is that they actually got people to pay to go and see it. :O It was 66 Yuan ($10:£6.60) for a ticket.... they sold about 500 tickets!!

I have no more words....

Have fun with it :D

If you hadn't worked out yet then I am British... (i.e. not American) but I do love American TV...

I hate text speak (whn ppl tlk lyk ths) and I love horses :D and all animals really. (I have two beautiful cats called Murphy and May, and many fish- one of which is called Chicken)

Welcome!

Hello there :)

This is my first blog post (as you can see)

In this blog I'm hoping just to write about life, and my thoughts on bits and pieces that we see in the news . No I am not the smartest or most insightful person in the world, but if I was then no-one would be able to relate... :D
So I hope I can post at least once a week...if not, then once a month minimum :)

So that's it for now....I can see myself putting in a lot of effort in here for a couple of days but then giving up and/or forgetting about it. But this is something I am keen to put some effort into actually working at something :P

Ok then, catch you later
